It’s been running around the rumor mill for so long now. But finally, we might have the release date for the highly-anticipated iPhone 9.

The iPhone 9 was previously rumored to come out in March 2020. However, just like everything else, it’s been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

But apparently, the delay won’t be too long as the device is expected to be release this month. A report suggests that Apple held an internal meeting to decide how they’re going to proceed on some of its operations during the pandemic.

The said device will hit the market on April 22, a week after its release. There should be enough units produced right now since the device entered trial production way back in February.

For a quick recap, the iPhone 9 is expected to be a “budget” smartphone from Apple — the long-overdue follow-up to the iPhone SE from way back. It will inherit the iPhone 8’s design, with the latest hardware from the iPhone 11 series. An iPhone 9 Plus model is also expected to be launched alongside it.
