The Xiaomi’s Mi TV Stick has been spotted on e-commerce platforms Gearbest and AliExpress, although it has not been announced officially.

On these platforms, the images which are elaborate with a series of unboxing pictures, showing the exact box and its contents. The Xiaomi Mi TV Stick will compete with the Amazon Fire Stick, Google Chromecast, and Roku Streaming Stick.

The Mi TV Stick will run on Android TV software, having access to top streaming apps and games. From the details, it shows that it will come in two variants: you can get it in FHD and 4K HDR models.

The listing on AliExpress shows detailed images of the device in the flesh, which already makes it a legitimate product before Xiaomi even releases it. The Mi TV Stick, which can be purchased in select e-stores, will only ship starting June 30, hinting its release date.


The Mi TV Stick just like the Mi Box 4K that was recently launched in India, will run on Android TV with no PatchWall launcher on top.

Considering the already competitive pricing of the Mi Box 4K, the Xiaomi Mi TV Stick FHD version could be launched for a very low price compared to the listings on AliExpress.


As per the listing, the Mi TV Stick will run on Android TV 9 Pie OS. The FHD version will have a quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, and 8GB of storage for apps. To access Google Assistant it is equipped with a Bluetooth voice remote.

There are hotkeys in the remote to launch Amazon Prime Video and Netflix. The 4K variant will have 2GB of RAM and HDR support, as the listings on Gearbest suggests.


The main feature of the Mi TV Stick is the ability to plug directly into the HDMI port of the TV and stay hidden behind it.

To receive power, the device comes with an adapter and USB cable so you can plug it to the wall or through the TV’s USB port.

Rumors surrounding the Mi TV Stick have been going on for quite a while, but no release date was announced. AliExpress listed the Xiaomi Mi TV Stick FHD version to cost around USD65, which is about Php3,200 when directly converted. On the other hand, Gearbest has listed the 4K version to cost around USD133 or Php6,600 minus the import taxes and costs.
