After the countless leaks surrounding the iPhone 8, it looks like it’s finally going official. Based on a report from Wall Street Journal, Apple is preparing for an event that will happen on September 12.
According to reports, Apple will not only release the rumored iPhone 8, but also a refresh to their current flagships — the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. It is said that the iPhone 7 line will be updated with a glass back design to support wireless charging.
On the other hand, we can expect Apple to confirm the things we already know about the iPhone 8. For one, we already saw what it would look like. There’s the Infinity Display-like screen, which is the reason behind the Home Button’s removal. It’s also being rumored to house a 3D face scanning technology, in lieu of a fingerprint scanner.
Furthermore, the iPhone 8 is expected to have a Blush Gold color variant and a whopping 512GB configuration. We’re also anxious to know if it would actually cost USD999 (around Php50,000). But to be honest, considering the absurd pricing of the Galaxy Note 8, it wouldn’t be really surprising at all.
The launch date is still tentative as Apple is yet to release the official invitation to the media. But considering the intensity of these reports and rumors, the provided date might be true.
