Rumors suggest that Apple is starting to be more creative with their upcoming iPhone line-up. The previous leak points to three different iPhones coming later this year. All of which belongs to different price segments, including one for the budget-friendly category.
At USD700 (~Php37,400), the rumored 6.1-inch iPhone is still relatively more expensive than some value-oriented Android flagships. However, of all the high-end smartphones that Apple have released in the past, this is surprisingly more affordable.
What’s more interesting is, Apple will be introducing new color variants for the cheapest model. The funky hues include Blue and Orange options. These compliments the yuppies, which could possibly be its target market.
But if you want a more traditional look, the 6.1-inch iPhone is also rumored to come in Space Grey, White/Silver, and a special Product Red color variant.
This information came from Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst from TF International Securities.
Kuo also added that the bigger 6.5-inch iPhone will match the price of the current iPhone X, which will inevitably reduce the price of the 5.8-inch iPhone — the actual follow-up to the current iPhone X — by around USD100.
A Gold color variant is also anticipated to come on the higher-end iPhone models, which may add an extra level of exclusivity to these models.
The new iPhones are expected to be released sometime in September or later. Until then, we expect to see more comprehensive leaks and rumors regarding this device, so stay tuned for that.
