Xiaomi is expected to officially announce their flagship Mi 9 in the next few days. But now, there are already a couple of things that we know about these devices, including their expected price tags.
A leaked promotional material revealed the supposed official pricing of the Xiaomi Mi 9, as well as the rumored Mi 9 Explorer Edition.
The document shows that the vanilla Mi 9 will retail for CNY3,499 (~Php27,000). It’s not stated what kind of RAM and storage configuration it will come with, but we suspect it will have at least 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
If this is true, then the Xiaomi Mi 9 is going to be more expensive than its predecessor, the Mi 8, which launched in the Philippines for Php25,990.

On the other hand, the Mi 9 is also expected to arrive with a transparent-back version and will come with a more premium price of CNY5,999 (~Php46,300). This is expected to be the successor of the Mi 8 Pro, which is available locally for Php32,990.
While these prices are still part of the rumor mill, Xiaomi execs did confirm one key feature that the Mi 9 series will have. In an official Facebook post, a company exec confirmed that their upcoming flagship will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor.
This isn’t really that surprising considering that almost all of Xiaomi’s flagships from the past are rocking the most powerful chipsets from Qualcomm.
Other than having a powerful processor, the Xiaomi Mi 9 is also expected to sport a triple-camera setup on the back, which will consist of a 48-megapixel primary shooter. An in-display fingerprint scanner is also plausible, and other features that most flagship smartphones have these days.
Xiaomi is set to announce the Mi 9 series on February 20.
