Philippine internet service provider Converge ICT announced on Wednesday that they were able to obtain a license to provide connectivity service to the wholesale market in Singapore.
The company’s overseas subsidiary, Converge ICT Singapore Pte Ltd, got the green light from the Ministry of Communications and Information’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) after it applied for a facilities-based operation (FBO) license.

Effective starting January 3, Converge ICT’s Singapore arm can begin rolling out telecommunications infrastructure and provide connectivity services, plus, fiber optic capacity to the country’s enterprise and wholesale customers.
Converge PH CEO and Converge SG Director Dennis Anthony Uy said that obtaining the FBO license “significantly bolsters the ability of the Converge Group to sell international wholesale connectivity and capacity services, as we can now directly service clients in Singapore to cater to their growing needs for intra-Asia and Trans-Pacific connectivity requirements.”
Part of the services Converge ICT will bring to Singapore is Ethernet-International Private Line (E-IPL), Carrier Ethernet Network service, Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP-VPN) services through Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), Dedicated Internet Access (DIA), and sale and resale of submarine cable capacities.
Converge Singapore was incorporated in the said country back in 2021 with the goal of selling and marketing international cable capacity to the country’s ISPs, carriers, and telcos.
