DITO Telecommunity is on a smooth course as the country’s third telco player passes the fourth year of the government-imposed audit, the company said.

Per DITO Chief Administrative Officer Adel Tamano, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) sent out a letter to DITO confirming its fourth yearly technical audit.

DITO has a yearly commitment to the audit as part of the agreements laid out in the telco’s Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity.

The report of DITO passing the Factual Findings from the Conduct of Specified Procedures-Year 4 Committed Levels of Service (CloS) dated August 29, 2023, follows R.G. Manabat & Co.’s submission of the requirements to the NTC. Showing positive growth, DITO currently has a population coverage of 80.65 percent.

Relative to the minimum average broadband speeds (MABS), the telco is clocking at 74.97Mbps for 4G and 639.32Mbps for 5G for all sites. Combined, it has an MABS of 357.14 Mbps.

Just in 2020, DITO promised to cover at least 84 percent of the Philippine population, with a minimum average speed of at least 55 megabits per second after five years.

DITO Chief Technology Officer Rodolfo Santiago looks back to 2019 when the telco was still building its initial tower while also looking to the present, highlighting how the company has grown since.

Santiago also talked about DITO’s recent accomplishments when OpenSignal rewarded the telco with four remarkable awards that elevated the company with the competition—Availability, Excellent Consistent Quality, Upload Speed Experience, and Core Consistent Quality.
