We finally got our hands on Vivo’s latest flagship device, the Vivo V7+. But before we head on to our full review, we would like to share our unboxing and our first impressions to tease you a little bit.

The Vivo V7+ has a pretty standard and straightforward packaging. Its outer shell has the image of the device itself, highlighting its 5.99-inch 18:9 FullView display. Vivo also highlights its chunky 24-megapixel selfie camera. It’s also worth noting that the company is also bragging about their partnership with FIFA for the World Cup 2018 happening in Russia.

Opening the box we are greeted with the device itself, wrapped all-around with a single piece of plastic. Below it is a packet that contains the SIM ejector tool, quick start guide, and the included protective case.

At the very bottom, we have the wall adapter, micro USB cable, and the included headphones.

Right off the bat, the Vivo V7+ feels and looks solid and gorgeous. The tall screen with an 18:9 aspect ratio is starting to become popular, largely because its a pleasure to look at. The device also feels comfortable and easy to hold, thanks to its sleek build. However, it has a plastic back which I really don’t like.

I was very eager to test out its new security feature, the FaceID, and did it work really well. The setup was fast and easy. When I tried to unlock the device using this feature, it’s as if there was no security enabled. The device just unlocked crazy fast when I put it up to my face and fire it up. We’ll see if the V7+’s Face ID is really safe and reliable in our upcoming tests.
