Looking for a dirt-cheap smart band to go with your smartphone? Then you might want to check out the new product from the Xiaomi sub-brand — meet the Redmi Band.
Despite its really cheap price tag, the Redmi Band offers a lot on the table. For starters, it has a flat 1.08-inch OLED screen, like what we saw on the Realme Band.
The screen is colored, so it can display detailed notifications and gives you the option to pick from different watch faces and wallpapers.
Just like the competition, Xiaomi had the USB-A plug built-in on the Redmi Band. This lets you charge it easily, without having to look for an easy-to-lose charger that smart wearables usually comes with. Speaking of which, the company claims that a 2-hour full charge can already last for 14 days.
Like most smart bands, there’s a heart rate sensor on the back of the screen. This will help the Redmi Band monitor your activities, workouts, and even sleep quality.
If you’re into swimming as a sport or a recreational activity, the Redmi Band is equipped with 5ATM water resistance so you can take it to the pool with you.
The Redmi Band is available in Black, Blue, Brown/Green, and Orange/Red. Judging by its design, the straps might not be interchangeable, unlike the more expensive (but still very cheap) Mi Band 4.
The Redmi Band has a price of CNY99 (~Php700) and will be available in China starting April 9. Its pricing and availability here in the Philippines are yet to be announced.
