AnTuTu’s top list for best-performing smartphones in China last September 2022 has been released, and it showed one interesting result: MediaTek beats Qualcomm in the flagship segment.
In the flagship race, the new ASUS ROG Phone 6D Ultimate topped the list. The interesting part is, it is powered by the Dimensity 9000+ processor — making it the only MediaTek-powered chip in this list as all the other 9 devices below it have the same Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.

The ROG Phone 6D Ultimate has 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage and got an average score of 1,123,036 in the AnTuTu Benchmark. That’s actually really close to the second-placer, the OnePlus Ace Pro, which is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 with the same RAM and storage configuration. It scored 1,111,200.
While the MediaTek flagship’s GPU slightly lags behind Qualcomm’s, it makes up for it by having higher CPU scores.

Completing the list, in ascending order from top 3 to 10, are the iQOO 10 Pro (1,091,058), Red Magic 7s Pro (1,088,074), Legion Y70 (1,086,381), iQOO 10 (1,081,766), Moto X30 Pro (1,068,685), Xiaomi 12S Pro (1,067,913), Redmi K50 (1,058,766), and lastly, the Mi Mix Fold 2 (1,054,035).
Opposite the flagship list, AnTuTu’s top-performing sub-flagship phones only have one Snapdragon-powered device. Pretty much everything uses a Dimensity 8100 Max or Dimensity 8100 chip.

Dominating the list is the OnePlus Ace. This Dimensity 8100 Max-powered smartphone got a score of 821,025. The same chip is found on the second placer (OnePlus Ace Racing Edition), third (OPPO Reno 8 Pro Plus), and eight (OPPO K10 5G).
The vivo S15 with its Snapdragon 710 CPU is the only Qualcomm device on this list and it barely made it as it take the tenth spot. The rest uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 8100 chipset.

Qualcomm then makes a strong comeback as it dominates AnTuTu’s top midrange phones list. No MediaTek devices to be seen as all of the devices on the list are powered by Snapdragon 7 series chips.
Leading the charge are two iQOO devices, the Z6 and Z5, powered by Snapdragon 778G+ and 778G CPUs, respectively. They are followed by the Reno 8 Pro 5G, Xiaomi Civi 1S, Honor 70, Xiaomi Mi 11 Youth, Honor 60, Honor 50 Pro, Honor 50, and Huawei P50 E.
