Chinese smartphone brand Huawei launched yesterday its much awaited high-end devices, the P40 series. At the same time, it also announced its newest EMUI 10.1.

Sorry to disappoint but a lot of the new features of the EMUI 10.1 are not unique to it. Majority are replacement of the apps and services usually offered to phones with Google Mobile Services.

Yet, these features are still interesting and helpful. We listed down the new things to look forward to with the the latest EMUI 10.1.

Hey Celia Voice Assistant

The new Hey Celia Voice Assistant is a replacement intended for Google’s AI voice assistant and is similar to iPhone’s Siri. Just use the words “Hey Celia” and you can dictate it to do tasks for you such setting alarms, controlling smart home appliances, answer questions and a lot more.

Multi-Window Panel

The latest EMUI comes with a multi-window features. With this, there is an edge panel that acts a drawer that has shortcuts to tools and applications and is accessible by doing a swipe from the both sides of the screens.

In multi-window mode, Huawei users can simply drag and drop images and texts from one window to the next. By using the app, you may respond to messages through a floating window instead of launching the app itself. With this, you no longer have to get out of the app that you’re currently using to reply to the notification.

One helpful feature of the video calling app is that it allows high-definition 1080p video calls. There’s a also a low-light mode wherein you will still see a person even if he/she is in a dim light. Lastly, there’s even a screen sharing, which is unique to MeeTime.
