A few days ago, we have reported that OPPO is gearing up to release a new device called the A77. And as expected, the phone is finally official.
The device was released only in Taiwan, or at least initially. We still don’t know yet if they plan to launch it in other countries as well.
The new OPPO A77 joins the company’s vast portfolio of selfie-centric smartphones thanks to its large 16-megapixel front-facing camera. It joins the “A” series that currently consists of the A39 and A37. These spectacular front-facing cameras are just a thing right now that a lot of manufacturers are releasing handsets that focus on the same feature – from OPPO, Vivo, and even LG.
The OPPO A77’s spec sheet looks very identical with the F3 minus the latter’s flagship feature, the dual front cameras. Both devices have the same display size and resolution and same MediaTek chipset. The A77 even shares the same 13-megapixel at the back and a 16-megapixel front-facing shooter, the same sensor seen on the primary front camera of the F3.

The OPPO A77 will go on pre-order beginning May 19 in Taiwan and it will start shipping on May 26. The phone is said to be priced at NTD10,990, which is around ~Php18,000 when converted directly. We’re really not sure where it belongs in the current line-up in the country, so we don’t really expect to see this phone arrive here.
For a better perspective, the OPPO F3 is priced at Php16,990 and the F3 Plus is available for Php23,990.
