SKK Mobile finally unveiled their new android phone called as the SKK Mobile Platinum. The Platinum is their answer to other local brands’ recently released high-end smartphones. But can it compete?
SKK Mobile Platinum has the same internals like its competitors. The basics are the 1.2GHz MT6589 quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, and Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean. On the camera side, it has a superior 13-megapixel main shooter and a better 5-megapixel front facing camera. At this stage, we still can’t gauge how well these are, but we’re hoping that it will live up to our expectations.

The specs are almost identical to the MyPhone A919i Duo (read our review), Cherry Mobile Omega HD 2.0, and O+ 8.15 (read our review). It has some advantages like the 8GB built-in storage (like 8.15) and camera so the price of Php9,999 is okay for the most part. However, we have yet to see how this device perform in real world usage.
We’ve talked to SKK Mobile already and they will send us some units but we still don’t know which device (they have a number of android device already).
What do you guys think? Will you choose this handset over other local android phones?
