One of the most beloved cars in Asia just got a major upgrade. We’re talking about the new Suzuki Jimny 2023, which has just gotten a 5-door treatment.
Making its official debut at Auto Expo 2023 in India, the new Suzuki Jimny 2023 is now a 5-door vehicle from being a 3-door classic. It also has a redesigned rear quarter with small window ports and a longer wheelbase.
Still, Suzuki retained some design choices that give the Jimny its classic look. There are the signature rounded headlights, slatted front grille, short overhands, and upright pillars.
Despite the additional doors, Suzuki managed to keep the length under 4 meters, a width of 1645mm, and a height of 1720mm. The wheelbase now measures at 2590mm, which is 340mm longer than the previous version.
The interior also looks the same with a center touchscreen in a black dashboard, three-dial automatic climate control, window switches located on the console, and for the full classic effect, a retro-looking instrument display.

Safety features include an electronic stability program (ESP), hill-hold assist, hill-descent control, anti-lock brakes, reverse camera, and 6 airbags.
Under the hood, this 4×4 machine uses a 1.5-liter K15B 4-cylinder engine — which is the same as the previous version. It can do 105 horsepower with 138Nm torque.
For fuel efficiency, it has Suzuki’s Smart Hybrid technology. The vehicle then comes with a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic option. There’s also a 4WD AllGrip Pro system.
Pricing and availability for the new 5-door Suzuki Jimny 2023 are yet to be revealed.
