As you can see, both the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro are great devices. If you want the best possible Android smartphone that is out right now, you really can’t go wrong with the Pro model. But if you want to save that price premium and get the vanilla P30 instead, then you’re still in for a treat.
It may not be as flashy as what the P30 Pro is, but the Huawei P30 still has a lot of the flagship features that you’d find on the former. For starters, it runs on the same Kirin 980 processor with 8GB of RAM — the same configuration that we also found on the Mate 20 Pro.
However, if you opt to get the P30 Pro, you’d be getting twice the storage capacity as it comes with 256GB of it, while the P30 only has 128GB.
The Huawei P30 also has a large and sharp 6.1-inch OLED FHD+ display with HDR10 support and has an on-screen fingerprint scanner built right in. The same display features are found on the Huawei P30 Pro, but this time, it’s slightly bigger at 6.4-inches.
Moreover, the P30 has a 3,650mAh battery with 22.5W fast charger included. But, due to its bigger chassis, Huawei was able to put a larger 4,200mAh battery on the P30 Pro. Huawei’s 40W SuperCharge and reverse charging features are also exclusive on this device.

Probably the only big reason why you should opt for the P30 Pro over the P30 is the cameras. While the 40-megapixel + 16-megapixel (ultra wide) + 8-megapixel (3x telephoto) triple rear cameras on the P30 is already good, the P30 Pro’s quad-camera is noticeably better and is even considered as the best camera phone in the industry today.
It boasts an identical 40-megapixel primary shooter, but with the inclusion of a sharper 20-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor, a ToF depth sensor, and a ludicrous 8-megapixel sensor with a periscope-style zoom that can achieve a whopping 50x of hybrid zoom.
The Pro model also brags a whopping ISO of up to 409,600, which lets you virtually see in the dark. While the non-Pro model can only go up to 204,800, which is still not bad for its class.
As for the design and build, the two is pretty much identical. However, due to the aforementioned bigger screen, the P30 Pro is slightly bigger than the former. Also, it has IP68-rated water and dust resistance, while its baby brother is only rated at IP53. The P30 model also has a curved edge right on the screen.
With all that said, here’s the bottom line. The Huawei P30 series is known for its killer cameras. And if that’s what absolutely what you’re in for, then the Huawei P30 Pro would really satisfy your expectations. Its top-notch camera features would blow the minds both the professional photographers and average users out there.
But if you just want something that has a lot of flagship specs, futuristic features, and still has a bit of that signature Huawei-Leica mobile camera technology, then you might want to settle with the P30 as it retails for Php14,000 cheaper over the P30 Pro.
Both the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro are now available nationwide for a price of Php36,990 and Php50,990, respectively.
