Xiaomi is pushing the envelope every time. No matter what kind of product it is — smartphone, earphones, home appliances — expect it to have over-the-top features for the price.
That’s exactly what we’re seeing in their latest release, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7. Its official launch here in the Philippines is still not official but everybody can’t stop talking about it.
There are a lot of things to watch out for on this device. There’s the pixel-packed camera, enormous battery, and a really capable processor — the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660.
And as you all know, processor and overall performance are one of the key features that people are considering first when getting a smartphone.
This is why we’re curious to see how this device compares to the Vivo V11. One of the most popular midrange devices in the local scene today, which also sports the same chipset.
In our Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 versus Vivo V11 specifications and features comparison, we’ll see how Vivo’s bet holds up now that Xiaomi’s latest offering is here.

The Vivo V11 is a great device in its own respect. However, it looks like there’s no way it could have won this specs battle over the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7.
Vivo’s offering has a more colorful Super AMOLED screen, while the latter only uses an IPS panel. It’s also marginally larger at 6.41-inches and comes with an Always-on display feature. This also allowed Vivo to incorporate an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Vivo’s offering also has a more impressive 25-megapixel selfie camera, which easily dominates the 13-megapixel sensor that the latter has.
But other than that, it’s pretty much a straight win for the Redmi Note 7.
For starters, there’s the killer 48-megapixel primary camera. This is a rare find on devices in the market today, and clearly obliterates the 12-megapixel shooter of the V11.
Both devices do have the standard-issue 5-megapixel extra rear sensor for depth-sensing, which is used in the Portrait mode.
The Redmi Note 7 also has a 4,000mAh battery, which is relatively bigger than the 3,400mAh capacity that the V11 has. Also, it has a more dated USB Type-C port, while the V11 disappointingly settles for a micro USB port.

On the upside, both devices come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, with up to 6GB of RAM, up to 64GB of internal storage, and an Adreno 512 GPU. Both Xiaomi and Vivo also kept the headphone jack on their offerings, while everyone else has already moved on.
Probably the biggest win that the Redmi Note 7 has over the competition is the price. This thing’s price starts at only CNY999 for the 3GB/32GB model, while the top-of-the-line variant costs only CNY1,399. That’s Php10,880 when directly converted to Philippine pesos.
Sure, that price estimation can still go up once it gets here due to local taxes and other fees. However, we expect it to be priced for under Php13,000 or something near, which is still way cheaper than the Vivo V11’s SRP of Php19,999.
As stated earlier, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 is yet to be made available in the Philippines. On the other hand, you can now get the Vivo V11 in tons of stores nationwide, as well as through Vivo’s official shops online.
So Vivo just overpriced this at 9,999? I pity the fools who were tricked.
