Xiaomi has introduced another smartphone for the masses — the Xiaomi Mi 6X. As expected, it packs all the features you’d expect from a killer midrange smartphone — a feat that’s unsurprising from Xiaomi.
But the thing is, there has been a lot of great developments going on in the smartphone industry in the last few months. There are innovations that allowed other brands to step up their game and be more competitive.
What we are referring to is the new OPPO F7 — OPPO’s current flagship phone in Southeast Asian countries like the Philippines. So far, this is the best smartphone that OPPO has offered in the country. It has the internals, cameras, and design that are relatively better than its predecessors.
Now that the Xiaomi Mi 6X is here, is it going to be a threat for the OPPO F7? Can Xiaomi’s new midrange handset steal people’s hearts (and cash) from OPPO when the Mi 6X gets here? Let’s try to find the answer to that question in our Xiaomi Mi 6X versus OPPO F7 specs and features comparison.

OPPO did an amazing job with the OPPO F7. However, it looks like it still has nothing against Xiaomi’s offering. Both devices are actually good in their own respect, but it appears that the Xiaomi Mi 6X has the edge on key aspects.
You might ask, why? Well, for starters, the Mi 6X has a faster and more reliable Snapdragon 660 processor. But that doesn’t mean that the Helio P60 is a slouch. This newest chipset from MediaTek is actually one of the best the company has ever produced and it’s actually killing it in a lot of benchmark apps.
The Xiaomi Mi 6X also has dual 12-megapixel and 20-megapixel rear cameras with 2x optical zoom capability. Meanwhile, the OPPO F7 only has a single 16-megapixel shooter. And to finish it off, the Xiaomi Mi 6X is expected to have a cheaper price when it arrives in the Philippines.

But then again, the OPPO F7 is one of the best smartphones that OPPO has ever made. And with that, it was also able to steal some wins against the Mi 6X.
For one, its notched display is marginally bigger and looks far more attractive — all thanks to its ultra-thin bezels. In addition, this handset has a better selfie shooter and a camera app that goes well with it. And for power-users, there’s a marginally bigger 3400mAh battery capacity.
At the end of the day, I think the OPPO F7 can justify the slightly expensive price tag that consumers need to pay even though there are cheaper alternatives like the Xiaomi Mi 6X. The OPPO F7 price starts at Php17,990, while the Mi 6X is expected to come in the Philippines with a starting price of Php13,000 to Php14,000.
On the downside, despite being a cheaper alternative, getting the Mi 6X, or any Xiaomi handset in their first few months is not that easy to do. As you all know, these devices are blockbusters. You can only get it from limited sources, so the availability is really shaky. But now that Xiaomi has an official presence in the Philippines, we expect it to be available in authorized Mi stores or in the official Lazada shop. By contrast, OPPO smartphones are offered in pretty much any shopping malls and online stores nationwide.
Good things come to those who wait, yung mga bumili ng Oppo F7, well its not a bad phone per se, its just the pricing has always been off with Oppo and Vivo since they spend so much in advertising and marketing. I don’t think na bebenta ang phones nila kung wala ang mga celebrity endorsers. Which is kabaligtaran ni Mi, maganda na products, quality, di ka pa iooverprice.
