GCash is one of the most popular mobile e-wallets in the Philippines, used by millions of Filipinos to send money, pay bills, get loans, load your SIM, save cash to earn interest, invest through managed funds, and much more.

Today, it has also started spreading its application and compatibility to other countries for even more convenience for users, especially traveling. With GCash’s expansion to other territories, the demand for using their services grows daily.

Another advantage of using GCash abroad is its convenience by removing additional charges and the need to hold on to cash. In this post, let’s learn more about which countries accept GCash as payments and how to register and use QR to pay merchants abroad.

How to pay internationally using GCash

When using GCash internationally, you can use it to pay merchants as long as they are Alipay+ partners.

Step 1: Ensure your merchants have an Alipay+ and GCash logo at the checkout.

Step 2: Log in to your GCash app and click the “QR” icon at the bottom of the screen.

Step 3a: Scan the merchant’s QR Code.

Step 3b: Tap “Pay abroad with Alipay+” and ask the merchant to scan your generated QR Code.

Step 4: Check the amount and tap “Pay.”

Step 5: You’ll be redirected to the receipt page.

Please note that Step 3 has two options. You can either use the merchant’s QR Code if it’s available or generate your QR code through the app and request the merchant to scan it.

Another good thing about using GCash abroad is its real-time conversion rate, where you can conveniently check the exchange rate in your current location.

GCash has added more ways to increase its applications outside the country by adding features that will benefit Filipinos abroad, especially travelers. It’s also expected that the list of countries accepting GCash will only grow.
