GCash Overseas, a recently approved service that allows users with international SIM cards to download and use the mobile wallet app abroad, is now available in more countries.
In what countries is GCash available?
Since it got approval to operate overseas, GCash has continuously added countries where it is available. As of February 2024, the Globe-backed e-wallet is available — or confirmed to be so — in the following countries:

- United Kingdom
- Canada
- Japan
- Australia
- Italy
- South Korea
- Taiwan
- Singapore
- Hong Kong
- Spain
- Germany
- Qatar
- Kuwait
- Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
- United Arab Emirates
Meanwhile, because of its partnership with Alipay+ to enable cross-border payments, GCash can also be used as a payment method outside the Philippines. Specifically, you can use GCash at stores that accept Alipay+ payments in the following countries:

GCash services available for compatible international SIM cards
Mobile users with SIM cards that are issued from the aforementioned countries can avail of the following GCash services:
- Remit money back to friends and family in the Philippines
- Send money via bank transfer
- Buy phone load credits
- Pay bills
- Cash in
When transacting on GCash abroad, users must verify that their mobile number is active and can receive messages containing one-time passwords.
What GCash services are not available when using international SIM cards?
Several features enjoyed by users with Philippine-issued SIM cards are currently unavailable for international SIM cards. These include GGives, GInsure, GLife, GLoan, and GSave.
It’s not yet clear if these services will eventually become available to international SIM cards. We’ll have to wait until GCash makes an announcement regarding its latest fintech innovations, the most recent of which include the GCash Card for real-time forex trading and GStocks for local stock trading.
How do you use GCash Overseas?
How to register

First, you must register for GCash Overseas. Sign up requirements include possession of a valid Philippine identification (e.g., passport and the SSS UMID) and a fully verified GCash account. You must also be at least 18 years old and residing in the supported countries as mentioned above. Simply follow the process inside the app and present the required documents to complete your registration.
How to pay using GCash abroad
Thanks to AliPay+, you can use GCash to pay for things even in countries where GCash isn’t officially available (see list of countries above). To do so, simply follow the steps below:

Step 1: Open the GCash app and tap “Pay QR”.
Step 2: Scan the QR code from the merchant.
Step 3: Settle the payment and you’re done.
Cash-in GCash Overseas
After registration, you can then proceed to cash in to add funds to your GCash account. You may choose to cash in through Western Union and Payoneer, as well as international partners such as Remitly and JRF. Each cash-in option will have different steps to follow, but most of them look a lot like the process below.

- Click Cash-In from the GCash dashboard.
- Select which service provider to use (ex. Western Union)
- Enter the MTCN (tracking number) and country of birth.
- Confirm the information listed on the screen and receive the cash in.
