Tencent has launched another MMORPG in the form of a sequel to the seminal Dragon Nest—the Dragon Nest 2: Evolution—as released on Android and iOS. The game is published by Level Infinite.
Dragon Nest 2 continues the lore of the original title by Eyedentity Games, taking place in the world of Altea where players are tasked with saving a collapsing world.
Tencent did not necessarily try to reinvent the wheel with DN2, with the game capitalizing on the tried-and-true mechanics seen in most MMORPGs. Like many other games in the genre, the game is heavily drawn from fantasy, which gives players a somewhat unique visual and gameplay experience in a world inhabited by monsters and never-before-seen locales.

But while the concept of good-versus-evil involving a Goddess and the entities deemed her enemies is nothing to write home about, Dragon Nest 2 capitalizes on the strength of its predecessor—largely, with its familiar setting, cutesy graphics, interesting RPG mechanics, and action-packed gameplay.
More specifically, players will get to make a character they would control, with an emphasis on said character’s growth, aside from the ability to customize. Players can even choose among different classes to pursue, not to mention newly introduced classes exclusive in the sequel, and whose choice will determine the player’s path along the way.
Will the player choose a melee-based class for close-up and hard-hitting combat? Or a class that uses a pair of bows and arrows for safer, yet also deadly, attacks from a certain distance? Or, maybe, something more magic-based for some beautifully-rendered elemental attacks?
Each class that the player can choose from comes with their strengths and weaknesses and demands a particular strategy and style of play.
Dragon Nest 2: Evolution is now available on Android and iOS as a free-to-play title, with microtransactions.
