The Overwatch World Cup, which has yet to occur in four years, is set to happen this year and will determine the first winner since 2019. Blizzard has announced the 36 regions that will be competing in the tournament. Additionally, the 2023 edition of the game will introduce new players to the competition with the release of Overwatch 2.

Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, and Thailand are among the Asia-Pacific countries that will compete. They will all face stiff competition from three-time champion South Korea and the current champion, the United States, among others.

According to Blizzard, the countries and regions participating in the 2023 Overwatch World Cup were chosen based on information about the number of Overwatch 2 players.
