Representatives from PLDT-Smart, Google, and Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Damogoso signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) that will help provide fast and free internet access across Manila using Smart WiFi.

Signed in the Manila City Hall last August 7, 2019, the agreement will assure that leading public places in Manila will soon be covered by Smart WiFi. Thus, will be added in more than 400 Google Station sites in the Philippines.

The agreement was signed by Mayor Isko Moreno himself, as well as PLDT CEO Manual V. Pangilinan, and Smart CRO Alfredo S. Panlilio. Also present in the signing is Google Philippines Head of Public Policy Yves Gonzalez.

Smart WiFi will start rolling out within the Manila City hall itself. As well as in other places like Tondo Medical Center, Ospital ng Maynila, Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center, Museo Pambata, and Universidad de Manila.

This agreement with the Manila government is just part of PLDT-Smart’s overall plan to provide free internet service across the country. This will allow people to stay connected with family and friends. Small business owners and entrepreneurs in Manila can also enrich their knowledge about their respective industries with the help of fast and reliable internet.

As of writing, Smart WIFI is now available in EDSA and MRT stations, LRT stations, and in different schools, hospitals, and other public places across the country.
