Sky Cable has faced challenges recovering from the economic impact of the global health crisis, reporting a net loss of Php653 million in 2023 due to declining demand for pay TV services.

Recently, there have been discussions about a potential partnership for Sky Cable. Dennis Anthony Uy, a Pampanga-based tycoon and owner of Converge ICT Solutions Inc., has shown interest in acquiring Sky Cable as part of his efforts to diversify his digital portfolio.

Previously, ABS-CBN planned to sell Sky Cable to PLDT Inc. for Php6.75 billion. However, the deal fell through, and both parties abandoned the transaction. If the sale had gone through, Sky Cable would have ceased its pay TV segment and focused solely on broadband services to align with PLDT’s core business.
