What’s in the Box?

DTC Mobile Ego

The usual DTC stuff was included in the box. It includes the DTC Ego, charger, earphones, 2 QWERTY keyboard covers, USB cable, manuals, and warranty card.

Design

The DTC EGO looks admirably cute and its compact body is a pleasure to hold. It’s not the thinnest QWERTY phone out there but the build is just right for a hand that’s on average size. In fact, we even compared it to the cuteness of Nokia Asha 200 because we’re impressed of its looks. Take a look at the photo below.

In terms of thickness, it is just slightly thicker but it will go unnoticeable if we will take a thorough look at it. Another good thing about this DTC GQTV1 is that it comes with 2 colorful QWERTY keyboard covers which are useful if you want to give your phone a fresh look. Actually, I love the red one so I replaced the original one with it.

Performance

Although the DTC EGO lacks the features of a smartphone, it never failed to entertain us in its own way. The mobile TV works very well and it can give a solid rendering of the show if there’s sufficient signal in the area. However, since the antenna for the TV was quite short, it is having a hard time pulling out decent shows in low signal areas.

Playing music is okay and loud enough to be enjoyable. I find the display a bit of a downer because it is relatively small to watch videos and television shows.

The dual-sim handles two networks smoothly and it didn’t have any problems in managing two them. Messages are received just in time and call quality is decent.

Verdict

DTC-EGO-Review

The DTC EGO GQTV1 is a very decent mobile phone if you’re just looking for the basic phone functions. The mobile TV feature is a plus but it is only usable when there is a great signal within the area. Overall, a pretty solid phone for a price of only Php1,899.

This phone will be included in our giveaway next week along with 3 other DTC phones. Stay connected to NoypiGeeks.com through our Facebook and Twitter pages to be notified immediately.

The giveaway is sponsored by DTC Mobile Philippines.
