The Huawei Ascend Mate7 was recently unveiled in Berlin, and it’s huge! The name may suggest that this device is of tablet variety, but it’s actually a 6-inch phablet with Full HD resolution.
Big and powerful, the Huawei Ascend Mate7 employs the company’s homegrown octa-core chip known as the HiSilicon Kirin 925, the cores of which are based on ARM’s Cortex-A15 and Cortex-A7. A Mali T628 chip handles the graphics, while Emotion UI 3.0 runs on top of the Android KitKat OS. Two versions of the handset are available: one with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage, and another with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage.
Per the press release, the Huawei Ascend Mate7 is composed of more than 95% metal. Given that, this ginormous handset still remains relatively light at only 185g. Its slim 7.9mm profile and curved back should help users hold the device with a firm yet comfortable grip.
