On its official website, it was revealed that the upcoming One Piece RED anime movie will be getting the IMAX treatment aside from the regular screenings. The film will be shown in 27 movie theaters in Japan on August 3.

One Piece RED will be focusing on Shanks’ daughter, Uta. Ado will be the voice behind the movie’s theme song “Shinjidai” (“New Genesis” in english), while Kaori Nazuka will be the speaking voice of Uta.

Mayumi Tanaka will be playing the role of Monkey D. Luffy, the lead protagonist of the popular manga and anime series. For the rest of the cast and voice actors, check it out here.

Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece manga is the executive producer, in addition to designing the “battle wear” of characters in the movie. Directing the film is Goro Taniguchi, who is also known for his works on Code Geass. Tsutomu Kuroiwa wrote the screenplay.

No official release date yet on One Piece RED’s international screenings, but it’s expected to happen in Fall of 2022.
