While the expectation is that people would return to their pre-2020 routine amid the easing of lockdowns and restrictions, a lot of us are still fixated on mobile devices. Data from analytics firm data.ai shows that mobile users in 13 markets spend at least four hours every day on apps.
As published in data.ai’s Q2 2022 Regional Pulse Index report, these markets include the United States, Brazil, Indonesia, Singapore, and India.
Singapore had the largest year-on-year growth in hours spent on apps at 40 percent, from 4.1 hours in the quarter of 2021 to 5.7 hours this year.

The report further showed that majority of the time spent remains concentrated on social media and video streaming, which are dominated by Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
As for games, survival shooter Free Fire still ranks number one worldwide in terms of downloads in Q2 2022. The MOBA game Honor of Kings reigns supreme in consumer spend, while Roblox currently enjoys having the highest number of monthly active users.
Mobile users in the Philippines, meanwhile, is also noted to be quite active based on other data collected by data.ai, with the country ranking tenth globally in terms of app downloads.
