BPI app users have recently received a notification regarding GCash transfers.

The advisory said that e-wallet loading to GCash via ECPay on the BPI app will have a charge of Php10.00. This new fee charge will take effect on March 1, 2024. Such a feature used to be free.

Meanwhile, e-wallet reloading to other services such as Maya and Vybe (a BPI-owned service) stays free as per the company’s website.

This new fee comes months after GCash started charging cash-ins from linked BPI and UnionBank. The Php10.00 fee appears to be standard for any transfer amount.

ECPay has been acquired by Mynt, GCash’s parent company, in 2023.
