Netflix wants to crackdown account password sharing

The days of sharing accounts in Netflix might probably come to an end soon as the streaming giant is testing a system that will weed out illegitimate users from the platform.

A number of users have been getting warnings from Netflix and implying the need for them to create their own account in order to keep streaming, with a specific condition that the user is not in cohabitation of the original owner. Alongside the admonition is the offer for them to create an account with a 30-day trial.

In order to confirm the validity of the user, Netflix has made it mandatory to send confirmation code to the account holder’s registered email address or phone number. Consequently, anyone who has no access to the code, strongly hinting of an ‘illegal’ access, will be locked out from the system.
