POCO’s smartphone releases have been quite boring and a little disappointing after its long hiatus when they released the Pocophone F1.

Instead of coming up with their own, their latest releases were borrowed from their parent company, Xiaomi, and just completely rebranded everything. From the POCO X2 (a renamed Redmi K30) to the POCO F2 Pro (a rebranded Redmi K30 Pro).

Now, the company is teasing another smartphone release, and we’re all hoping that the Xiaomi sub-brand has come up with something original this time.

The Twitter post, which you can see below, was from Angus Kai Ho Ng, POCO Global’s marketing manager and spokesperson. It teases the brand’s love for “Hz”, which leads us to believe that they are planning to release a device with high refresh rate screen.

But how much do they love “Hz”? Do they admire it too much to release a ROG Phone 3-like 144Hz smartphone? A Mi 10 Ultra-like 120Hz device? Or just so-so to come up with a 90Hz panel, just like what the Mi 10 has?

Apparently, it’s actually 120Hz. It appears that Angus already confirmed that they’ll launch a smartphone with a 120Hz AMOLED display, but retracted the tweet immediately.

Moreover, there are people saying that it’s going to have a Snapdragon 765G processor, with 5G connectivity coming along with it. The device is also rumored to have 33W fast charging and a 64-megapixel main camera.

POCO might have their crosshairs pointed at the OnePlus Nord for this release. But we’ll just have to wait and see until the mystery smartphone comes out.
