It looks like the Xiaomi Redmi 9 is finally coming.
The existence of the Redmi 9 has been confirmed as it’s been spotted at Xiaomi’s global RF certification page. It has a model number of M2004J19G, the same code that was seen in a bunch of smartphones that were certified by the China Compulsory Certification (3C).
Unfortunately, there is no other information that was revealed about the device. Albeit, we expect it to have similarities to the Redmi Note 9 series, especially in the design.
Rumor has it that the Redmi 9 and 9A will sport a quad-camera setup on the back, similar to the Note 9. It will have a 13-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide, and two obligatory macro and depth sensors.
The Redmi 9 is also suspected to come with a MediaTek Helio G70 octa-core processor. An entry-level gaming processor found on devices like the Realme C3, and a major step up to the Snapdragon 439 of its predecessor. Meanwhile, the screen on the front would be 6.6-inch in size, but probably only at HD+ resolution.
The Redmi 9 release date and pricing is yet to be announced. Although, we expect it to be cheaper than the Redmi Note 9S, which is available in the Philippines for a starting price of Php10,490.
