I’m pretty sure you have heard of these guys – one of the pioneers of crazy budget-friendly smartphones that has top notch specs. Xiaomi, one of the most prominent tech brands from China, is making a comeback in the Philippines.
As a sign of their return, Xiaomi puts up their flag in the country by opening their brand new social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. They have already ditched their old Facebook page, probably as a sign of a fresh restart.
The company’s Philippine counterpart is now calling themselves Mi Home PH. This new brand name hints that they will be offering their other products in the country other than smartphones and tablets. And a quick browse to their young Facebook page justifies this theory.
In a Facebook post, Mi Home PH announced that they are indeed more than just smartphones. They also shared a picture of devices that are said to be initially available on Lazada.
The product list posted includes tech accessories like a Bluetooth Speaker, VR 3D Glasses and Bluetooth Earphones that looks like an Apple AirPod. There’s also a Walkie Talkie and a Smart Camera.
A few days after the said post, Mi Home PH posted yet another line of products that will be made available in Lazada. The company is now officially offering their smart home products in the Philippines. The products featured include an Air Purifier, Water Purifier, Electric Kettle, Robot Vacuum and a Rice Cooker. All of these smart appliances has a smartphone app companion that either let you operate or monitor the activities that are happening on the products.
Judging by the enthusiasm seen in the Mi Home PH Facebook Page, it looks like the said devices above are just the initial wave of products that the company will be bringing here in the country. So in the upcoming weeks or months, maybe we can expect Xiaomi offer their large and high-tech TVs, the Mi Drone, and their mini scooter called Ninebot.
UPDATE: It’s fake.
Xiaomi got the attention of a lot of Filipinos when they first got here due to their real bang-for-the-buck devices, and we cannot wait to see what they have in store for us this time around.
