The hype surrounding the upcoming Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro intensifies as more details about it got leaked online.

A few days ago, Xiaomi confirmed the release date for the refreshed version of the original Black Shark 2. Since they are only a few months apart, we expected the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro to have a similar design with its predecessor. But apparently, we were wrong.

In a leaked live image, it appears that the Black Shark 2 Pro will have a slightly modified back design. The area where the logo is situated is slightly narrower to give more room for the glass to show.

Also, the corners of the middle strip will be rigged with LED strips. This shall provide great lighting effects as it will accentuate the logo, with the light boosted by the bigger glass area.

Moreover, the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro was spotted at AnTuTu to confirm some of its key specs.

It’s been speculated that the main reason why this Black Shark 2 Pro model was born is for Xiaomi to flex the brand new Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor. And thanks to AnTuTu, the speculations became a fact.

The Black Shark 2 Pro will also come with an overclocked Adreno 640 GPU, perfect for its gamer-centric status. It’s then bundled with a generous 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

All of this hardware managed to pull off a score of 405,598 on AnTuTu. That’s obviously better than the vanilla Snapdragon 855, which had an average score of around 350,000. Xiaomi’s latest will go against the ASUS ROG Phone II, which is powered by the processor.

We shall learn more about the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro once it goes live on July 30, 2019.
