As you all know, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 has just been made available in the Philippines. But if you’re one of those who went a little too excited, and imported the device from China, then we have good news for you.

If you’re using an imported smartphone, the device will most likely have an unsuitable ROM version. This means that the device may have a couple of quirks that renders it not so usable for users outside its designated country.

Thankfully, if you own a Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 that was imported from China, you can now download its MIUI 10 Global version ROM with Android 9.0 Pie. With this, you can get the more country appropriate Google Play service and apps, language options, and more.

To get started, download the 1.7GB file here, and start flashing it yourself. But if you’re not familiar about TWRP flashing, then let me refer you to this tutorial. Or, if you can still wait for a bit more (which I bet you can’t), then just wait for the official update to arrive.

The Xiaom Mi Mix 3 with the pre-installed MIUI 10 Global ROM is now available in the Philippines for Php29,990. You can get it on Mi Stores around the metro, as well as in Xiaomi’s official shops in Lazada and Shopee.

  1. What is global rom? Does that mean its compatible with our
4G bandwidths here? I know different countries have different bandwidths so how did they harmonize this with a single global rom? Can somebody enlighten me on this.
