The popular midrange line from Xiaomi is about to get its successor for 2020 — the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9.

Xiaomi made the big announcement via Redmi India’s official Twitter account. The post writes the hashtag “Pro Cameras, Max Performance”, which signals the major key features of the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro.

The post also confirms the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro’s release date, which will be on March 12.

It looks like Xiaomi did a great job of keeping this device a secret since we still haven’t seen any elaborate leaks about it, even now that we’re only few days away from its release.

The Twitter post also has a graphic that confirms the quad-camera setup of the series. Judging by the lens sizes inside the square P40 Lite-like camera bump, the two large lenses on the bottom will be for the primary camera — possibly a 48-megapixel for the Redmi Note 9 and 64-megapixel for the 64-megapixel Redmi Note 9 Pro model.

We also have two smaller lenses on the top, possibly for the depth-sensor and macro cameras.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro

Xiaomi might also utilize the latest MediaTek Helio P95 processor that the Reno 3 Pro 4G have. Or, if MediaTek comes up with a successor to the Helio G90T of the Redmi Note 8 Pro.

These are just speculations. We’ll just have to wait and see what the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro has in store for us once it gets unveiled on March 12. So stay tuned for that.
