It’s no secret that Apple is working on a foldable iPhone. Last year, we saw many leaks and rumors suggesting that a new Apple smartphone form-factor is indeed in the works.

While everyone is savoring the leaks and rumors surrounding the iPhone 13, the foldable iPhone is reportedly slowly taking shape.

As per renowned leaker Jon Prosser, sources inside Apple revealed that the foldable iPhone might have a clamshell design. Similar to what the Galaxy Z Flip and Motorola Razr 5G have.

Apparently, the folks inside Apple are leaning towards this form-factor than the phone-tablet hybrid design where a device folds vertically like what the Galaxy Z Fold 2, Mate Xs, and majority of foldable phone in the market are.

What’s interesting is, the foldable iPhone might come with a reasonable price. Apparently, it will be available in many fun colors, like the budget iPhone 12 and 12 mini models.

As per Prosser, the foldable iPhone will not come out until 2022, so the year 2021 will be dominated by the iPhone 13. Previous rumors suggest that Apple has ordered foldable displays from Samsung, possibly for testing and prototyping. The said device was also rumored to have passed internal testing for durability.
