More than a month since its launch in the Philippines, Huawei’s second foldable smartphone is now up for pre-order. The Huawei Mate Xs 5G retails for a whopping price of Php139,999.
As the name suggests, the new Huawei Mate Xs 5G is the successor of the Huawei Mate X. It has the same folding mechanism with incremental improvements in the hardware inside.
When folded, the Huawei Mate Xs 5G has a large 6.6-inch screen. Meanwhile, at the back are the quad cameras and a smaller 6.38-inch display. On the other hand, when unfolded, the device features a huge tablet-like 8-inch OLED screen.

The smartphone also comes with powerful flagship internals. It uses the Kirin 990 octa-core processor with Mali-G76 MP16 GPU and it has 8GB of RAM plus 256GB of internal storage.
Software-wise, the Huawei Mate Xs 5G runs on Android 10 with EMUI 10. However, there’s a catch. Just like any recent Huawei smartphone, it doesn’t have Google Mobile Services built-in and only uses the company’s own Huawei App Gallery.

In terms of camera, the handset features a 40-megapixel main sensor. Its other cameras include 16 megapixels for ultra wide shots, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens, and a ToF depth sensor. It also has a 4,500mAh battery that supports 55W Huawei SuperCharge.
The Huawei Mate Xs 5G in interstellar blue color is available only in select stores like Silicon Valley, Aerophone, Intogadgets, and MemoXpress.
