xiaomi chiron

A mysterious device has been spotted yet again on GFXBench’s datebase, a cross-platform benchmark app. This time, the device in subject is a smartphone codenamed as Xiaomi Chiron. And judging by its specs, it’s most definitely Xiaomi’s next high-end handset.

The said Xiaomi Chiron has will adopt the 18:9 aspect ratio, just like the Mi Mix 2. It has a bizarre resolution of 1980 x 1080 inside a 5.6-inch space, which means that the extra pixels might have been reserved for on-screen buttons.

But what really got our attention is the Snapdragon 835 chipset. And to add to that, it also has 6GB of RAM and a whopping 256GB of internal storage.

Moving on, the said Xiaomi Chiron also has a 12-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel one at the front. Since GFXBench can’t tell if either of them is a dual-camera setup, it would be a huge mystery right now.

Lastly, the device comes with Android 7.1.1 Nougat right out of the box with their own MIUI 9 on top.

Well, that’s everything we know so far about this mysterious Xioami Chiron device. If it indeed goes official, reports suggest that it might be the Mi 6 Plus, a bigger brother of the Mi 6. But until we hear it directly from Xiaomi, all of this is just pure fiction.
