It has been recently reported that Xiaomi is about to come up with the Pocophone F2. That’s just a few months after the F1 was introduced.
Considering that its predecessor is still fairly young, rumors suggest that Xiaomi will be focusing on improving the design on the Pocophone F2.
This move is fairly acceptable, considering that the first version came with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. That’s a flagship chipset that Xiaomi was able to cram on an under-Php20k smartphone.
Going back, since the Pocophone F2 is only expected to come with a refined design, Ben Geskin (@VenyaGeskin1) got creative and made a concept render of Xiaomi’s upcoming release.
As you can see, Geskin took a lot of inspiration from one of Xiaomi’s latest devices, the Mi Play. The concept boasts the same water-drop notch that the former has. This gave the device a better screen-to-body ratio.
Also, Gesking made the bottom notch smaller. However, we expect the final product to have a bigger one. This is due to the limitations caused by using an IPS panel, instead of the more expensive OLED screen.
And since the F2 will all be about design renovation, it looks like Geskin envisioned the Pocophone F2 to now have a unibody metal design — providing a more premium feel and look. You can also notice that the dual cameras have been moved on the far left, but still sports the same red ring design accent on each sensor.
If we were to speculate, Xiaomi could also introduce a bigger battery, better cameras, and if we’re lucky, waterproof protection on the Pocophone F2.
But until then, we can never know for sure. We’ll just have to wait until the company officially introduce this device, which we expect to happen in the coming months or even weeks.
