Mobile network analytics firm Opensignal has published the 2022 edition of its Global Mobile Network Experience Awards, with local telcos Globe and Smart earning the Global Rising Star status in the report.
Unveiled on a yearly basis, Opensignal’s Global Awards honors outstanding mobile network operators all over the world for their notable improvements across six categories. The top 30 operators worldwide are granted the Global Rising Star.
For 2022, Smart managed to earn such status for four of these categories—video experience, voice app experience, download speed experience, and games experience. Smart is noted to have the most improvement in game experience among Asia Pacific network operators with a 42.9-percent increase.

Meanwhile, Globe earned the status across five of the categories. Except for games experience, Globe is noted to have “most improved” for the same categories in which Smart was listed, but the company was also acclaimed in two additional categories—upload speed experience and 4G availability.
Both Globe and Smart have been consistently recognized since the Global Awards report was first published in 2020.
