The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus are now official, so Smart Communications Inc. has also announced its postpaid offerings for the Korean company’s latest flagships.
If we’re talking solely about the looks, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus are not much different with its predecessors. Flipping it on the back is a different story, though. The obscure fingerprint placement that was an issue in the S8 was smoothly relocated underneath the camera sensor, so it’s now easily reachable by the finger. Another significant improvement is the dual camera setup on the Galaxy S9 Plus.
For those who don’t want to pay the hefty price of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus, Smart is offering it for as low as Php2,499 per month in their new GigaX plans. Check out the full list of Smart Galaxy S9 postpaid plans below.

Unlike the Galaxy S8 postpaid plans, Smart is not going to let people get this one at Plan 399. This time around, subscribers are required to avail at least Plan 599 in order to get their hands on the Galaxy S9.
Probably the best Galaxy S9 offer among all the options presented above is the Plan 1499 + Php1,000 per month cash-out. With that, consumers will get 5GB of open access data, 10GB of video streaming allocation, 60 minutes of all network calls, and unlimited texts to all networks. Meanwhile, the Php1,000/month is for the payment for the handset (24 months). Alternatively, subscribers can pay Php24,000 straightaway to lower the monthly payment to only Php1,499.
For the Galaxy S9 Plus, it’s also available at GigaX Plan 1499 plus Php1,300 cash-out installment for the device for 24 months (or Php31,200 outright). However, for an additional Php100 per month, subscribers can opt for the Galaxy S9 Plus with a bigger 128GB internal storage. So in total, that’s about Php1,499 + Php1,400 for the smartphone = Php2,899 monthly (versus Php2,799/month of the 64GB variant).
The pre-order for the Smart Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus will begin on February 27. What do you think? Would you pay the expensive price of the S9 in cash or would you prefer to get it in monthly installments from telcos? Let us know in the comments down below.
Monthly installments. Thanks
Monthly installments. Much preferable lower monthly installments and longer payment methods. Thanks
