The new Apple Watch Ultra 2 has been unveiled with minor improvements to an already capable smartwatch.

Announced alongside the iPhone 15 series, iPhone 15 Pro series, and the Watch Series 9, the new Apple Watch Ultra 2 has an improved Apple S9 SiP. This latest chip enables in-device Siri processing for faster answers and more accurate voice dictation.

The device also supports Apple’s new Double Tap gesture controls, which lets you control the device, disable alarms, answer calls, etc., by literally double-tapping your two fingers.

Apple also threw in a new UWB (ultra-wideband) chip for improved and more precise location tracking of your AirTags, friends through Find My, and more.

Other than that, everything else is pretty much the same. There’s the rugged and chunky design, a battery life that lasts for up to 36 hours, and 72 hours under low-power mode.

It also has a special Modular Ultra watch face that shows you the most amount of data by taking advantage of the screen’s outer display. Speaking of which, it still has a 1.92-inch LTPO OLED screen, which can now go as bright as 3,000 nits.

Like the first gen, it is still a great companion for drivers as it can be submerged in up to 40 meters of water and has the right software to show diving information, has built-in ECG, sleep tracker, blood oxygen tracker, temperature sensing, Crash Detection, Fall Detection, compass, and dual-frequency GPS.

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 has a price of Php54,990 in the Philippines and can be had with an Alpine Loop, Trail Loop, or Ocean Band.
