The most awaited budget android phone from LG is finally here! The LG Optimus L3 was released a week ago in the Philippines with the cheap price tag of just P5990. Being an entry-level device, the all-new LG Optimus L3 will compete to Samsung’s best selling and king of cheap android phones which is the Samsung Galaxy Y and together with Alcatel’s own dual-sim budget android in the name of Alcatel Blze Glory 918N.
In the past few years, LG didn’t really break into that “cheap and affordable” barrier that Samsung dominated. Yes, they did have some entry-level smartphones but it’s price was not affordable enough for a typical Filipino to invest they’re money on. With the smartphone manufacturers competition heating up, this urge the need to bring their product to the masses by being pocket-friendly.
Despite being a budget smartphone, the LG Optimus L3 somehow carries the specs and hardware of a mid-range level device which gives it big boost in its rank against its rivals. It is powered by an ARMv7 800MHz processor with a considerable 384Mb of RAM which means that it will have the ability to play a decent number of HD games. The ARMv7 chip is newer version than Samsung Galaxy Y’s ARMv6 and Alcatel Blaze Glory 918N’s Mediatek chip. Oh, I also forgot to mention that it uses a better camera at 3.15MP.
Here’s the things that you need to know, the LG Optimus L3 specs:
• 3.2 inch QVGA Capacitive Touchscreen 240×320 pixel resolution
• Android 2.3 Gingerbread
• 800MHz ARMv7 processor
• Adreno 200 GPU
• 384MB RAM
• 1GB internal memory (expandable up to 32GB via microSD)
• Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot
• 3G, HSDPA 3.6Mbps
• Bluetooth v 2.0
• Li-Ion 1500mAh Battery
But what are the main advantage of this device? It will be the bigger RAM and longer battery life which can extend a couple of hours of regular usage. With this build up, Samsung now has to lessen the price of the future price of Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 because Samsung Galaxy Pocket has way to low power to compete with this device. You can check my post about the Samsung device by clicking their names above.
Surely enough, it will take away tons of fans from the Samsung Galaxy Y because of it’s more advanced specs. Although LG entered the competition a little late, it is still better than never. So start your search for LG Optimus L3 in your nearest malls!
ur wrong, HSDPA 3.6 Mbps only, not 7.2
Yeah, I missed that one. I didn’t notice that it only supports 3.6Mbps. Too bad. Thanks for the catch!
