The expected LG V30 is still making its rounds in the rumor mill. So before offering the official device, the Korean giant just announce an alternative. This is the new member of their new Q line-up, the LG Q8.
The LG Q8 pretty much picks where the V20 of last year left off. The two shares almost the same specs, but the Q8 has a smaller screen at 5.2-inches. The new device also gains an IP67 water resistance rating. However, LG has to compromise the non-removable battery to better seal the device. This might be a bad news to those V20 fans.
The Q8 also shares an identical design to the V20, but with its roots leaning to the Q-line. This thing shares the same monotonous metal tone from its brethren, the LG Q6 line. At first look, the Q8 does resemble like the V20. This is due to the components that the two shares.
For one, the LG Q8 also has a secondary display up top for shortcuts, menus, and more which is one of the headlining features of the V20. This will aid the primary 5.2-inch IPS Quantum display which has a QHD resolution. At the back, we also see the pronounced dual-camera setup, only this time, the LED flash and the laser autofocus are being sandwiched by the 8MB wide-angle and 16MP cameras.

LG is set to make the Q8 initially available in key Europe markets starting this week. Availability in Asian markets is scheduled next month.
