Smartphones with pop-up cameras became so mainstream that you can now find them in midrange smartphones.
One of the first devices to bring this feature in entry-level devices is the OPPO F11 Pro. Besides its unique levitating camera, it also has a stylish design, reliable performance and battery, and other impressive features.
However, the F11 Pro is not with its competitors. Queue the Xiaomi Mi 9T, a device that also has a pop-up camera, as well as other interesting specs and features.

As what you just saw, both the OPPO F11 Pro and the Xiaomi Mi 9T has a lot more to offer than their pop-up cameras. But, there’s no denying that the latter delivers better features overall.
One of its lead over the former is in the camera department itself. The Mi 9T uses a 20-megapixel sensor for its selfie camera, while the F11 Pro only comes with a 16-megapixel camera.
Both devices have a 48-megapixel sensor. But, the Mi 9T gets the one-up by sporting an extra 8-megapixel camera with 2x optical zoom and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide shooter. The F11 Pro only comes with a secondary 5-megapixel depth sensor.

Another obvious win of the Mi 9T is its display. This one comes with a Super AMOLED panel with HDR support and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The use of an AMOLED panel also allowed Xiaomi to put in an in-display fingerprint scanner.
On the other hand, the OPPO F11 Pro is bigger at 6.53-inches. Although it settles for an IPS panel and a traditional, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
There’s also the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 on the Xiaomi Mi 9T, which is relatively more powerful than the MediaTek Helio P70 on the latter.
As a bonus, you can get the Mi 9T with 128GB of storage, versus the only 64GB option on the F11 Pro. However, the Mi 9T lacks an option for storage expansion. On the upside, both devices come with 6GB of memory that’s roomy enough for multitasking.
One small thing, but really appreciated the feature of the Xiaomi Mi 9T is its USB Type-C connectivity. In fact, this implementation should already become a standard in devices today.
However, devices like the OPPO F11 Pro and its microUSB port prevents the Type-C to be the one and only standard.
Both devices come with a generous 4,000mAh battery with their own fast-charging technologies. But to OPPO’s credit, their VOOC 3.0 technology with 20W of power can recharge the F11 Pro faster than the 18W charges the Mi 9T.
They also ran on the dated Android 9 Pie OS. But, personally, we think the MIUI 10 on the Mi 9T is more intuitive to use than the ColorOS 6 on the F11 Pro.
As per the design, the OPPO F11 Pro offers a more subtle but elegant color gradient desing on the back. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Mi 9T has a flashy reflective accent that looks like a blazing flame as it reacts to light.
Bottom line, if the overall value for money is what you’re after, then you might want to take the Xiaomi Mi 9T over the OPPO F11 Pro. Besides its better specs list, it also has a more affordable price.
It starts at Php15,990, with the top-of-the-line model available for Php17,990. That’s Php1,000 cheaper that the OPPO F11 Pro, which is available at Php18,990.
There’s also a 128GB version of OPPO F11 Pro offered at the same price (P18990) It’s the Aurora Green.
