It looks like Samsung has finally come to their senses and decided to really step up their game when releasing budget-friendly smartphones.
Samsung did a complete overhaul and even discontinued their Galaxy J-series to consolidate all their budget offering in the Galaxy A line-up. This shall make their non-flagship offerings more uniform, and hopefully, actually deliver real value for the money.
Today we would like to talk about the Samsung Galaxy A10, the most affordable smartphone in the said line-up. Right off the bat, you can already tell that Samsung has improved their game on this one.
The Galaxy A10 offers a pretty compelling package for the price. However, does it really have what it takes to compete on the reigning smartphones from Chinese brands? That’s the question that we want to answer.
Today we’ll be doing a Samsung Galaxy A10 vs Realme 3 specs comparison. This shall give us an idea if Sammy’s move to better their entry-level products will allow them to finally compete on some of the current hotshots in this category.

Well, as per the table above, the results of this comparison is really obvious. While the Samsung Galaxy A10 is clearly a step up from what the company has been coming up in the past, it still failed to go head to head with popular budget-contenders such as the Realme 3.
The Galaxy A10 has an Exynos 7884 octa-core processor, which isn’t that bad for the price. However, it’s been easily overshadowed by the more powerful MediaTek Helio P60 processor, which performed really well in both productivity and of course, mobile gaming.
Moreover, the Realme 3 has 3GB of RAM, versus the 2GB of memory that the former has. You even have an option to make it 4GB if you’re willing to spend more.
Besides the processing performance, you shall also get better battery longevity on the Realme 3. It comes with 4,230mAh of capacity with an included 10W fast charger, while the Samsung Galaxy A10 only has 3,400mAh.

One of the biggest features that people are looking for on a smartphone, despite its overall performance, is the camera capabilities. With that, it’s quite obvious that the Realme 3 still takes the win on this one.
It boasts a 13-megapixel selfie camera, while the Galaxy A10 only has 5-megapixels. Both devices do come with 13-megapixel rear shooters, but, the Realme 3 gets a one-up thanks to its secondary depth-sensor and other software features that let you take even better images.
Probably one of the biggest downer on the Galaxy A10 is the lack of a fingerprint scanner. That’s a feature that the Realme 3 has, and pretty much all devices that are under this price category.
Well, I guess there’s nothing much left to say. Clearly, the Realme 3 offers better features than the Samsung Galaxy A10 and ultimately delivers better value for the price since they both retail for Php6,990.
The Realme 3 is now available in stores, kiosks, multi-brand shops, and through the company’s official Shopee store. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy A10 will not arrive in the Philippines until April 27.
