Apart from the two entry-level android phones, the ZTE Skate and ZTE Light Tab 2 were also revealed in the launch last week at a hotel in EDSA. The ZTE skate was the flagship carrier of the ZTE brand while the Light Tab 2 will be the one to clash with other tablets. Though both of them are said to be the brand carrier, they don’t have those killer specs that will turn people’s heads around. Let’s find out more below.
The ZTE Skate flaunts a 4.3-inch Capacitive screen for beautiful display, 1GHz for a smooth operation, a 512MB of RAM for multi-tasking and 5MP camera for random snapshots. According to ZTE Philippines president, James Chen – “We at ZTE are extremely enthusiastic about the launch of the Skate smartphone in the Philippines”. “The Skate is a building block upon the success of our Blade model and is an important step forward for ZTE’s entry into the middle-to-high end smartphone market”.
Indeed, the Skate is a successor of the ZTE Blade which skyrocketed into popularity with a large user base. The same deficiency applies to the unit which is the low battery capacity despite of the big screen.

The ZTE Skate will be available in the Philippines with a price of Php13,990 while the ZTE Light Tab 2 will sell for Php15,990. Given the price level of ZTE Light Tab 2, this will definitely be a hard-fought game for them in the tablet battle. The same goes for ZTE Skate as they are still both on Gingerbread and does not have impressive specs with their price tag.
