As a follow to last year’s successful Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V, comes the Sony Xperia Neo L released by Sony Mobile in the Philippines. Although the original manufacturer was now bought by Sony, the device seems to be capable of getting the same amount of fans of its predecessor. This smartphone was launched along with a much costly Sony Xperia Ion.

The Sony Xperia Neo L boasts a 4.0-inch LED-backlit LCD with a 480 x 854 pixel resolution, a 1GHz single-core processor for speedy navigation, 205 GPU for gaming needs, and a 512MB RAM for multi-tasking commodities. As always, the Timescape UI will be the default android skin in this phone to go along with the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. In terms of camera, the Xperia Neo L has a 5 megapixel main camera for picture perfect moments and a secondary front-facing VGA camera for video chatting.

One bugging thing about Sony Xperia Neo L is that it has a 1GB of internal memory, but the sad thing is – only 300MB will be available for the user. Anyhow, that’s the only problem I’m seeing but this is not a real problem at all if you don’t mind it. It is just that the smartphone scene has gotten too fierce that even Php4,999 phones (Samsung Galaxy Pocket) have 3GB of built-in storage so this thing is definitely quite a setback.

  1. I got my Sony Xperia X8 free from Sun Call and Surf plan 999, and I was quite disappointed with the cam, no autofocus and the battery drains quickly. The android OS can’t also be updated to the latest versions. With this Sony Xperia Neo L model, I’m sure it’s a far cry compared to the X8, and the 12k price tag is relatively reasonable, though it’s best to check out other brands. I’m considering HTC actually, should I get a new phone.
