HMD Global recently announced their new midrange offering, the Nokia X6. It marks the company’s revival of the Nokia X-series — and as what we know by now, HMD is fond of reviving old Nokia products.
But unlike the new 3310 or the Banana phone, the Nokia X6 is actually slightly different. For starters, it is a proper midrange device, but from a family of Nokia smartphones from the past.
The X6 is also a statement from Nokia and HMD Global that says they are now ready to join the display notch bandwagon. As you can see, one of its highlight features is that tiny island on top of the screen of the device.
Having that design touch, plus being in the midrange space, only means that it will go against devices like the OPPO F7, Vivo V9, and Huawei P20 Lite.
So the question is, does the Nokia X6 have what it takes to fight against the OPPO F7? Can it beat it to become one of the best-selling smartphones in the Philippines? We aim to answer that question in our Nokia X6 and OPPO F7 specifications and features comparison.

The two phones had a pretty tough battle in the specs comparison above. Both the Nokia X6 and the OPPO F7 have equally impressive features, but they do differ in some areas.
Let’s start with the operating system. Both devices run on Android 8.1 Oreo. However, OPPO is sticking with their own ColorOS 5.0 for the interface, while the Nokia X6 relies on stock Android experience. If you’re a big Android fan, you’d really appreciate Nokia’s clean and vanilla flavor software.
Processor-wise, a lot of people would still prefer a Qualcomm chip due to the stigma associated with MediaTek processors. But in our OPPO F7 review, the MediaTek Helio P60 chipset inside it actually performed very well. The same can be said with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 as it’s still one of the trusted processors in the market due to its good reliability.

In terms of memory, both devices are available in either 4GB or 6GB RAM options. But if we’re talking about storage, the OPPO F7 takes the lead as its base model comes with 64GB and the top-of-the-line version has 128GB. The Nokia X6 is only available with either 32GB or 64GB storage options.
In addition, OPPO brought their A-game in the selfie department, like they always do. It comes with a 25-megapixel front camera, which is better than the 16-megapixel of the X6. In fact, it has the most number of pixels in the front-facing camera worldwide.
However, the Nokia X6 steals the spotlight by having a dual camera system at the back. There’ a 16-megapixel and an extra 5-megapixel sensor that shoots in monochrome. On the other hand, the OPPO F7 only has a single 16-megapixel shooter.
Since these two devices pretty much had a tie score in this specs comparison, I guess we’ll just have to base who wins it with the price. The OPPO F7 4GB/64GB variant retails for a price of Php17,990 in PH.
On the other hand, HMD Global hasn’t announced the Nokia X6’s official price here in the Philippines yet. However, the Nokia X6 4GB/64GB is priced CNY1,449 in China (~Php11,900).
We can still expect that price to increase once it arrives here in the Philippines. But we can surely expect it to not go beyond Php15,000 — making it more affordable than the OPPO F7.
