Flagship smartphones from Chinese manufacturers are slowly stealing the spotlight in the Philippines. Filipinos who are shopping the high-end category tend to go with Apple and Samsung, but now they are starting to notice the great devices that other brands are releasing.
Both OPPO and Huawei have shown great potential lately. The Huawei P20 Pro, the company’s current flagship smartphone, has captured the attention of a lot of people with its triple-rear cameras and attractive design.
The Huawei P20 Pro also seems to offer good value for the money compared to its competitors, something that we rarely see in flagship devices like this. If we gauge people’s interest based on the comments and interactions we get from our website, we can safely say that the Huawei P20 Pro is the current favorite by most of our readers. But will their minds change its decision once they learn about the new OPPO Find X? Well, that’s what we’ll have to see.
Just like the P20 Pro, the OPPO Find X offers a lot more than just having a capable processor to attract consumers. There’s the really attractive and unique design, large screen, and the pop-up cameras.
Which between these two devices should you really get? Is the P20 Pro’s impressive camera setup enough to lure people in? Or will the Find X’s unique features steal the spotlight? Go ahead and check out our OPPO Find X versus Huawei P20 Pro specifications and features comparison.

The OPPO Find X clearly offers more interesting features than the Huawei P20 Pro. However, you will have to pay more to get one. And you’d be the judge if those extras are worth Php5,000.
What are the best features that you’d be getting on the OPPO Find X over the Huawei P20 Pro? Well, the first thing that comes to mind is its unique design. OPPO’s flagship completely snubbed the display notch, which results to an incredible bezel-less screen with a 93.8% screen-to-body ratio.
OPPO was able to achieve an incredible feat by also implementing the stealth camera feature. Pop-up cameras have a potential of being the future of mobile devices, and OPPO was able to do it in a really fashionable way.
Another thing to admire about the Find X is its processor. This device has the trusty Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage. On the other hand, Huawei settles for their own Kirin 970 chipset with only 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
On the upside, since Huawei makes their own processors, the Kirin 970 was really tailored to work with the P20 Pro. It also has a dedicated NPU for AI-powered tasks, making the device futureproof once AI features get more advanced.
Lastly, the OPPO Find X has 3D facial recognition security feature. Unlike the one found on the P20 Pro, OPPO used complex sensors and algorithms to make their face unlock technology work better no matter what the scene conditions are.

But probably one of the main cons of the OPPO Find X is the lack of a fingerprint scanner. Sure, its new face unlock feature works really well, but most people are still more comfortable on using fingerprint sensors.
It also lacks any water-resistant protection. That’s a real bummer especially for its price, but having an IP67 durability rating like what the P20 Pro can give a peace of mind that the device won’t get easily be damaged from an accidental splash of water or being caught in the rain. However, it’s understandable because it has moving parts.
The OPPO Find X has an interesting pair of cameras, but I still think that the Huawei P20 Pro is a tough one to beat. It comes with a 40-megapixel camera that shoots in color, 20-megapixel in monochrome, and another 8-megapixel sensor with a telephoto lens.
It can do 5x hybrid zoom and 960fps slow-motion videos. To know more about it, we’ve tested its camera prowess in a separate article here.
On the other hand, the OPPO Find X only has a 16-megapixel and 20-megapixel dual rear cameras. Although the Find X was able to one-up them by having a marginally better 25-megapixel front camera.
Other few extras that the P20 Pro has over the Find X is its dual front speakers and a relatively bigger 4,000mAh battery.
To finally wrap it up, I do believe that what we have here are two of the most interesting Android smartphones today. If you want a smartphone that’s more reasonably priced and has one of the best smartphone cameras around, then you might want to check out the Huawei P20 Pro.
But if you want to experience design innovations that OPPO has to offer, going with the OPPO Find X doesn’t seem like a bad idea. As a bonus, it also comes with a more capable hardware for power users who need more oomph in their everyday tasks.
You can get the Huawei P20 Pro for a retail price of Php44,990. Meanwhile, the OPPO Find X is priced at Php49,990 and it will be available beginning August 11.
